"The Springfield Files" originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on January 12, 1997. In the episode, Homer believes he has discovered an alien in Springfield. Leonard Nimoy guest stars as himself and David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson guest star as agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, their characters on The X-Files. The episode serves as a crossover with The X-Files and features numerous references to the series. The story came from former showrunners Al Jean and Mike Reiss, who returned to produce this episode while under contract with The Walt Disney Company. It received mostly positive reviews from critics; Jean and Reiss won an Annie Award for producing it.

The Mayor's Easter Egg Hunt is an annual event for the kids of #Springfield. It is organized by Mayor Quimby and happens in a big garden of his mansion.

After a short address by Mayor Quimby and his wife Martha Quimby, the Hugs Bunny who is a referee there, opens the gate and the children run into the garden. They all have baskets, run along the garden and look for hidden eggs.

St. Patrick's Day in #Springfield is booze free due to the amount of violence every year. A conflict between the Catholic Irishmen and the Protestant Irishmen results in a city-wide fight. Lisa pauses the violence momentarily by singing the Irish lullaby Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ral. Meanwhile, Marge's cupcakes are stolen by a group of urchins and saved by Patrick Farally, a baker who offers Marge a job after tasting her cupcakes and realizing her talent.
