"S02.E05 - Chapter Five: Dig Dug"

In the infected pits from the #Upside Down, Hopper encounters a growth that sprays him with spores, causing him to lose consiousness. Overhead, the hole that Hopper dug is covered over by vines. At the Byers' house, Joyce finishes assembling Will's drawings. Will wakes up and tells Joyce that he thinks Hopper is in danger. Hopper wakes up and vomits black sludge. He tries to escape but finds the way back blocked. He starts moving deeper into the tunnels after covering his mouth.

Jonathan and Nancy seek out Murray Bauman. Nancy corrects a lot of Murray's information and reveals the truth about Barb. At the arcade, Lucas tells Max the truth about what happened to Will the previous year.

the name Stolichnaya was replaced by Slotichnaya

A Shot of Stolichnaya in Stranger Things

The Russian spirit’s presence happens when Nancy and Jonathan arrive at the house of Murray Bauman, a reporter investigator, to ask for help exposing the government conspiracy that killed their friend Barb. They have proof in the form of a taped confession, and want Bauman’s help in getting the story out. It’s then that Bauman pulls out a bottle of Stolichnaya vodka, with its signature red-and-white label, and prepares a drink.
In the scene the name Stolichnaya was replaced by Slotichnaya with a slightly change in the T and L.
To understand the importance of the iconic Russian brand in this narrative, you have to look at its relationship with another brand, this one American. In 1972, the PepsiCo Company signed an agreement with the USSR (nowadays most of Russia) to become the first Western products sold in the country. As the Soviet ruble (the USSR currency) was effectively impossible to exchange on the market, Pepsi proposed a trade: soda for Stolichnaya. It thus became the exclusive distributor of the typical Russian spirit in the United States.
